Job Summary
The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Communications Officer with a passion for putting the Trust at the forefront through effective and innovative communications.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to engage local communities, NHS staff, local and national media, and key stakeholders. Responsibilities include developing and delivering communication strategies, creating compelling content, and using digital platforms to communicate in a modern, relevant, and informative way.
Main Duties
Support the implementation of communications KPIs, strategy, and activities.
Work alongside the communications manager to ensure processes and initiatives are followed.
Support divisional communications and staff engagement activities.
Provide information to ensure directors and managers can develop communications and engagement action plans.
Assist the director and head of communications with developing processes and evaluation tools aligned with Trust objectives.
Communicate NHS National Staff Survey results.
Support production of The Dudley Group Annual Report.
Maintain the positive reputation of The Dudley Group through proactive external communications.
Research and apply for relevant awards.
Support development of plans addressing staff engagement concerns.
Assist the communications manager with marketing strategies.
Manage media enquiries, draft responses, and prepare press releases for approval.
Tailor media releases for digital channels to ensure maximum reach.
Design creative content across all communications channels.

Qualifications
Degree-level qualification, relevant professional certificate, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
Evidence of continuing professional and personal development.
Knowledge
Knowledge of guidance, policy, and legislation relevant to the role.
Good general knowledge of the NHS.
Experience
Management and leadership experience in a complex organisation.
Leading projects and collaborative working with multi-disciplinary teams.
Influencing staff at all levels, including senior management and directors.
Supporting implementation of strategy and staff/customer engagement.
Experience in press office, digital media, and social media.
Desirable Experience
NHS experience.
