Role Overview
Jisc is delivering a major digital transformation programme made up of multiple, complex and interdependent projects. This role is central to the success of that programme.
A Senior Project Manager will lead at least one large-scale, high-impact project focused on implementing enterprise systems using Salesforce platforms, which underpin CRM, Service Management and Self Service architecture. Accountability will include delivering to agreed time, cost and quality standards.
A mixed project team of Subject Matter Experts and project specialists will be built and led, including Business Analysis and Change, using both dedicated and non-dedicated resources.
The role requires confidence working with ambiguity and managing challenging stakeholder relationships, along with ownership of senior stakeholder engagement, translating technical concepts clearly and influencing decisions where needed.
Contribution will also be made to strengthening Jisc’s project management practice, providing leadership, guidance and support across the project, wider programme and the EPMO.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Facilitating communication between project stakeholders and workstreams, including managing dependencies, monitoring progress, and chairing effective meetings
- Owning and leading project governance, including risk and issue management, change control, stage gate preparation, benefits tracking, decision logging, and financial oversight, providing clear recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Leading project planning to ensure alignment with delivery milestones, dependencies, resource constraints, and maintaining project schedules throughout delivery
- Providing strong leadership to project and technical teams, setting accountability, aligning teams to project vision, and ensuring delivery commitments are met
- Supporting collaboration across workstreams, ensuring alignment, dependency management, and effective communication between stakeholders
What Jisc Is Looking For
- Experience leading and managing project teams in an agile delivery environment
- Proven experience leading technology enabled or system development projects, including software implementation, platform upgrades, or integration initiatives
- Proven ability to manage and influence complex stakeholder groups
- Experience using software tools to support delivery including Microsoft Project and ideally Jira
- Strong track record of successful project delivery
- Experience delivering using Salesforce platforms in an enterprise environment is desirable
Hybrid Working
Specific office attendance patterns are not mandated, and frequency is agreed with a manager. Travel to hub offices may be required for in-person meetings.
