Job Summary
Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a values-led, compassionate, and credible senior leader committed to improving Children and Young People’s (CYP) services across a complex, multi-borough environment. The Senior Business & Transformation Manager will lead high-quality, sustainable service transformation across CAMHS, Eating Disorders, and Children’s Community Physical Health services while enabling staff to deliver optimal outcomes. The successful candidate will have experience leading complex programmes and managing senior relationships across organisational and system boundaries.
Main Duties
The role oversees and enables delivery of the CYP transformation and business portfolio within the Goodall Division, including:
Leading complex, high-profile programmes across CAMHS, Eating Disorders, and Children’s Community Physical Health services.
Line managing Business & Transformation staff supporting CYP workstreams.
Ensuring strong programme governance, delivery discipline, and accountability across multiple boroughs.
Driving transformation programmes while responding flexibly to emerging divisional priorities.
Partnering with Borough Directors, Clinical Directors, system partners, and commissioners to provide strategic direction, programme design, and delivery oversight.
Ensuring meaningful co-production with children, young people, and families.
About the Goodall Division
The Goodall Division is the largest and most diverse division within CNWL, providing integrated mental health, community physical health, and specialist services across North West London. Key services include:
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)
Community and inpatient Eating Disorder Services
Adult and Children’s Community Physical Health Services
Specialist rehabilitation and learning disability services
Perinatal mental health and other specialist pathways

Job Responsibilities
1. Divisional Delivery, Service Redesign & Transformation (CYP)
Lead CYP portfolio as senior Business & Transformation lead.
Oversee transformation priorities across CAMHS, Eating Disorders, and Children’s Community Physical Health.
Use robust project and programme management methodologies for high-profile programmes.
Embed sustainable change into operational practice and plan future delivery phases.
Collaborate with Divisional and Borough leadership to prioritise initiatives and agree realistic timelines.
Drive co-design and co-production with children, young people, and families.
Support Integrated Care Systems and place-based partnerships.
Commission and manage external consultancy support where required.
Promote a culture of service improvement and collective accountability.
2. Programme Governance, Planning & Financial Insight
Ensure transformation projects follow CNWL methodologies and governance frameworks.
Develop robust project plans, business cases, and documentation.
Set and monitor milestones, identifying risks and dependencies early.
Provide high-quality reporting to Divisional, Trust, and system-level forums.
Collaborate with Finance for modelling, CIP development, and assessing financial implications.
Apply Quality Improvement methodologies and build capability in teams.
3. Leadership & Line Management
Provide visible and credible leadership within the Business & Transformation team.
Line manage Business & Transformation Managers and associated staff.
Set objectives and performance expectations, ensuring delivery to agreed standards.
Foster a positive, solutions-focused team culture.
Support development, supervision, and succession planning within the team.
Manage delegated budgets in line with Trust policy.
4. Partnership & System Working
Build strong relationships with Borough Directors, Clinical Directors, and Service Managers.
Work collaboratively with commissioners, Local Authorities, education partners, and VCSE organisations.
Promote integrated working across mental health and community physical health services.
Represent the Division in multi-agency and system-level forums.
Person Specification
Qualifications:
Essential: Degree or equivalent; Masters or Postgraduate in management or equivalent experience.
Desirable: Formal programme/project management qualification (MSP, PRINCE2, Agile); training in consultancy techniques/strategic development tools.
Experience:
Essential: NHS or similar senior leadership experience; staff management; project delivery in clinical services; funding proposals/bid leadership; experience with digital components.
Desirable: Experience with voluntary sector or community social enterprise.
Knowledge:
Essential: Programme/project management; NHS Long Term Plan; mental health frameworks.
Desirable: Knowledge of Integrated Care Systems/Partnerships; operational planning; clinical services.
Skills & Abilities:
Essential: Communicate complex, sensitive information; plan short- to long-term; identify delivery challenges; build credible relationships; mentor and team build.
Desirable: Strong analytical skills; interpret data, activity modelling, and financial information.
Personal Disposition:
Essential: Ability to influence stakeholders; make difficult decisions under tight timelines; travel across CNWL area.
