Sales Operations Manager Role Overview
This is an evolving role shaped by the growing need for effective sales processes around product introduction to drive revenue and support sales teams in delivering for customers.
The role involves working alongside the Deputy Director of Sales Operations and Enablement, while independently making informed decisions and influencing senior stakeholders including heads of product and relationship management across HE and FE sectors.
Close collaboration takes place with the Director of Product, Head of Commercial in GCTO and finance partners to ensure products are ready for sale and service delivery in line with revenue commitments.
Planning cycles across sales and product teams are led, including monthly forecasting, performance monitoring and annual planning. The role also owns sales operations within the wider operations function and works closely with deputy directors in customer sales teams.

With over 200 colleagues across multiple disciplines and global delivery operations, the directorate operates as a collaborative, high-energy team focused on achieving ambitious business targets.
A major priority is driving high-value sales of Jisc products and services into existing and new markets to grow sustainable revenue and reduce reliance on grant funding.
The operations team also provides essential support to the Managing Director, senior leadership team and shared services including CRM and member subscriptions.
Key Responsibilities
Ownership of the annual sales planning schedule, quarterly reviews and monthly sales pipeline meetings
Chairing monthly sales pipeline meetings
Managing business-wide stakeholders including sector heads and heads of product
Ownership and delivery of the annual sales launch event
Developing full understanding of Jisc sales targets across the CSE directorate
Using CRM systems to populate monthly performance reports and compile summaries with commercial director input
Driving project planning around PLM and sales targets
Aligning project timelines and delivery constraints
Supporting project governance including documentation preparation, risk management, stage gates, reporting cycles, decision logging and budget tracking
Required Skills and Experience
Jisc is seeking candidates with the following experience and competencies:
Strong understanding of sales strategies, processes and performance metrics
Demonstrable project planning, delivery and management experience
Experience working with senior and executive stakeholders
Experience supporting and optimising sales teams
Strong communication and influencing skills across all organisational levels
