Product Designer (Sponsorship Available) – Kernel
Employer: Kernel
Job Title: Product Designer
Location: London, United Kingdom
Salary: £85,000 – £137,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time
About Kernel
Kernel provides enterprise RevOps teams with AI-powered company data for their CRMs. The company raised $14M in Series A funding from top VCs and operators at Plaid, OpenAI, and Slack to build an AI-native alternative to Dun & Bradstreet’s entity and hierarchy data.
RevOps teams at Navan, Gong, Mistral, and AlphaSense use Kernel to run their organizations. Kernel processes 7B+ tokens daily and runs 1.8M+ agents each day on a minimalistic architecture: one database, one queue. This scale is comparable to Wikipedia’s English content (2.3B tokens) and Visa’s daily transaction volume (~365M/day), all built by a small, expert engineering team.
The Role
Kernel is hiring its first Product Designer, a foundational hire with end-to-end ownership of core product UX.
Mission: Simplify complexity. Make a powerful product feel effortless by creating clearer workflows, sharper mental models, fewer decisions, and more confidence.
This role values impact over seniority.
Responsibilities
Own core UX end-to-end: flows, IA, interaction design, and visual craft.
Run ground-truth discovery: lead user interviews, synthesize insights, and translate into shipped changes.
Prototype quickly: use Figma, v0, Figma Make, or whatever works to create high-signal prototypes.
Ship with engineering + PM: iterate fast with tight loops and high-quality production.
Build design foundations: principles, patterns, and a lightweight system without slowing the team down.
Support “other stuff” (~5%): decks, narratives, or business-driven tasks as needed.
Candidate Profile (Impact > Seniority)
Demonstrated track record of shipping meaningful product work with clear decisions and outcomes.
Skilled at simplifying complexity, not just polishing UI.
Able to run independent discovery and uncover user truths.
Fast, clear communicator who collaborates tightly with engineers.
Strong taste and execution: prototype → production details.
This role may not suit you if:
You need perfect clarity before starting.
You prefer long cycles and big “reveals.”
You require fully remote work (in-person pace preferred).
