About the Role
Marton Road Pharmacy is seeking a motivated, patient-focused Pharmacist to join the community pharmacy team. This clinically driven role focuses on delivering high-quality NHS and private pharmacy services while expanding advanced clinical offerings. It is ideal for pharmacists looking to develop clinical skills in a progressive, service-led environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Services Delivery
- Deliver NHS services including:
- Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS)
- New Medicine Service (NMS)
- Structured Medication Reviews (where applicable)
- Hypertension Case Finding
- Smoking Cessation Services
- Seasonal vaccination programmes (e.g., flu, COVID-19)
- Provide private clinical services such as:
- Travel health consultations and vaccinations
- Weight management programmes
- Private prescribing (if qualified)
- Health screening services (cholesterol, diabetes risk)
Patient Care
- Provide expert clinical advice and counselling on medicines and minor ailments
- Promote health and wellbeing through proactive engagement
- Maintain safeguarding and patient confidentiality standards
Dispensing & Operations
- Ensure safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of prescriptions
- Maintain compliance with GPhC standards and pharmacy SOPs
- Support workflow management and service delivery
- Supervise and train pharmacy support staff when required
Service Development
- Identify opportunities to expand clinical service offerings
- Contribute to achieving service targets and KPIs
- Support business growth through high-quality service provision
Requirements
Essential
- Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Strong clinical knowledge and patient-focused approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to deliver NHS advanced and enhanced services
- Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD)
Desirable
- Independent Prescriber qualification (or willingness to train)
- Experience delivering private clinical services
- Experience in a service-led/community pharmacy environment
- Vaccination accreditation
