Job Summary
To provide a comprehensive, efficient, timely and professional management accounting service to the Corporate unit and Research dept within the trust.
The post holder will deputise for the Corporate Business partner in management accounting issues as appropriate, providing professional and managerial leadership to the Management Accounts function and working alongside the Costing team to engage with clinicians in Financial Management using Service Line Reporting.
Main Duties of the Job
Act as a key senior financial contact for the Corporate & research cost centres, with the support of the team to deliver day to day business and performance support to these areas.
Assist with the collation of complex data for external reporting requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Discuss complex financial queries with suppliers, customers and other organisations which are often reasons for delayed payment and other sensitive issues
Provide advice to the corporate areas on complex financial issues and negotiate with external organisations over cost
Train and develop non-financial managers in complex budgetary control issues, using specialist NHS budgeting knowledge
Provide a high quality analytical and planning service to the Corporate & Research directorate
Provide assurance to the Corporate Business partner of the quality of historic and forecast financial information through completion of a comprehensive analytical review process
Maintain the Procurement savings work plan, validate savings and ensure savings are reflected in financial forecasts and plans
