Overview
Assist Home Care Ltd is seeking a compassionate and experienced Care Support Worker to provide high-quality care for individuals with learning disabilities and behaviours that may challenge. This role involves supporting service users to lead independent, dignified lives in their own homes.
Sponsorship is only available for candidates already in the UK. A valid driving licence is required for this role.
Assist Home Care Ltd delivers care and support services across Bradford, Kirklees, and Calderdale, supporting individuals with a wide range of needs, including learning disabilities, autism, complex medical needs, and sensory impairments. Key Responsibilities
Support service users in the community, promoting independence and social inclusion
Plan and assist with community trips and recreational activities
Provide emotional and practical support for individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours
Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, continence support, and feeding
Prepare and serve meals, supporting nutrition and dietary needs
Support mobility, ensuring safety and confidence in movement
Assist with shopping, errands, and household tasks
Conduct support calls to ensure well-being and address concerns
Manage and document service user progress, updating care plans as needed
Promote positive behaviours and use proactive strategies to de-escalate challenging situations
Facilitate social interactions and help maintain relationships within the community
Work closely with family members and external professionals to meet service user needs
Requirements
At least 1 year of care experience, preferably with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours
Experience in community support and planning social or recreational activities
Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) preferred
Valid driving licence and access to a car
Fluency in written and spoken English
Ability to work day shifts, night shifts, and weekends
Willingness to travel to service users’ homes and community locations
