Job Summary
The Causeway Hotel is seeking a talented and dependable Full-Time Chef to join its kitchen team. Located in a unique and high-profile setting, the hotel is committed to delivering quality food and excellent guest experiences.
The successful candidate will be confident working across all kitchen sections, including preparation, sauce work, grill, and managing the pass during service.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard
- Carrying out daily food preparation with efficiency and minimal waste
- Preparing and executing a range of sauces according to menu specifications
- Taking responsibility for the grill section, ensuring accurate cooking and timing
- Managing the pass during service and coordinating orders for smooth kitchen flow
- Ensuring all dishes meet the hotel’s quality and presentation standards
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment
- Adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
- Assisting with stock control, ordering, and waste reduction
- Working closely with the kitchen team to ensure excellent service
Requirements
- Previous experience as a chef or line cook in a busy kitchen
- Strong grill and sauce preparation skills
- Experience working the pass or coordinating service (highly desirable)
- Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- COS available for the right candidate
Desirable Experience
- Experience in a hotel or high-volume hospitality environment
- Relevant culinary qualifications
- Passion for high-quality food and attention to detail
