Overview
Nexus Multi Academy Trust is seeking a Deputy Headteacher to join the Senior Leadership Team from September 2026 (or sooner if possible). This role is ideal for a motivated, aspirational, and experienced senior leader who can work alongside the Headteacher, Academy Council, and wider Trust to drive school excellence.
The ideal candidate will be able to inspire students, lead staff teams, and respond to the emotional, social, and mental health needs of learners, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Applications are welcome from candidates with experience in mainstream primary or secondary schools, special schools, Alternative Provision, or those familiar with SEND and Trauma-Informed Approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership alongside the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team
- Ensure high standards of teaching and learning across the school
- Support the emotional, social, and mental health needs of students
- Lead and motivate staff teams to achieve the best outcomes for learners
- Promote a positive school culture and aspirations for students’ futures
- Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to enhance student support
About Nottingham HOPE Academy
Nottingham HOPE Academy is a child-centred education provision in Nottingham for students with health needs. The Academy offers six different provisions across four sites:
- Children’s Hospital School – thirteen wards at Queens Medical Centre
- Lookout Education Centre at Hopewood CAMHS Unit – two wards and a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
- Nottingham Education Sanctuary Team (NEST) – based at Castle Gate
- Secondary Pathways – based at Castle Gate
- Sherwood Pathways – Sherwood Education Centre
- Sensory Pathways – Sherwood Education Centre
The school provides holistic support focusing on education, health, and social needs, supported by strong partnerships across the Nexus Multi Academy Trust and local agencies.
