Job Summary
North Central London Cancer Alliance (NCLCA) is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join the team in improving cancer outcomes across North Central London. This role is to cover maternity leave as part of a job share arrangement.
The postholder will report to the Senior Programme Lead and will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of current and upcoming projects. The role requires strong project management experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders across health and partner organisations.
This position suits candidates with backgrounds in project management, public health, or cancer services.

Main Duties of the Job
The Senior Project Manager will support the development and delivery of cancer prevention, awareness, and screening improvement programmes.
Core responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering project plans
- Managing risks, issues, dependencies, and milestones
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time and to quality standards
- Organising meetings, governance groups, and programme events
- Supporting improved patient pathways with clinical and operational teams
- Building strong stakeholder relationships across NHS and partner organisations
- Collecting, analysing, and presenting complex data and reports
- Managing and monitoring project budgets
- Supporting communications, reporting, and knowledge sharing
- Using project management tools and maintaining accurate records
- Ensuring compliance with Trust policies, health and safety, and data protection
Job Description
The role involves supporting NCLCA leadership in identifying and delivering strategic cancer programme priorities.
The postholder will:
- Support programme and project planning and delivery
- Track risks, issues, and performance outcomes
- Coordinate meetings, agendas, minutes, and reports
- Support service improvement and pathway development
- Work closely with communications teams to share programme achievements
- Develop and manage budgets, including reporting variances
- Use project management systems to log and analyse data
- Support collaboration across multiple NHS and partner organisations
Working Arrangements
- Team size: approximately 35 staff
- Based in: Warren Street, Central London
- Hybrid working: minimum of one office day per week (usually Thursdays)
- Job share arrangement preferred Tuesday to Friday

Person Specification
Knowledge & Qualifications
Essential:
- Strong written and spoken English
- Degree or equivalent experience
- Project management qualification or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of NHS systems and cancer services
Desirable:
- Understanding of cancer pathways or primary care
- Knowledge of PRINCE2 or MSP
Experience
