Job Summary

Juniva Homecare Services is looking for a caring and dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality care to individuals in their own homes. This role focuses on enhancing the quality of life for service users through personalised support, dignity, and companionship.

No previous experience required – full training will be provided, including all mandatory courses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, incontinence care, companionship
  • Support service user with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition.
  • Assist with medication administration as per prescribed guidelines.
  • Engage service user in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies for service user with specific needs, including those with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for service user, ensuring hygiene standards are met.
  • Document service user progress and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Attend training, meetings and reviews as required.
  • Adhere to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) codes of practice, and National Care Standards.

Skills

As a Support Worker, adaptability is important to meet changing service user’s needs and preferences, ensuring that all individuals being cared for receive the support that suits them best.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with service user and their families.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism.
  • Can be both compassionate and reliable
