Key Responsibilities

Drive Whole-School Mathematics Excellence

  • Lead the strategic vision for mathematics across the school
  • Promote mathematical fluency and confidence for all learners
  • Embed evidence-informed teaching approaches across departments
  • Use data to identify gaps, inform interventions, and raise outcomes
  • Ensure consistency and high expectations in maths teaching across all key stages

Provide Exceptional Leadership

  • Contribute to whole-school strategy and improvement as part of the Senior Leadership Team
  • Lead on strategic priorities that support academic excellence and student wellbeing
  • Line manage teaching and support staff, providing coaching and professional development
  • Uphold high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour
  • Model and embed the values and ethos of Lift Firth Park

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Degree in Mathematics (or related subject), PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status
  • Recent experience as a teacher or leader in a UK-based school
  • Strong track record of excellent classroom practice and improving student outcomes in maths
  • Strong understanding of evidence-informed maths pedagogy and curriculum design
  • Proven experience improving outcomes in a school setting
  • Ability to inspire, develop, and influence colleagues

Desirable

  • Experience leading whole-school or cross-curricular initiatives
  • Experience working in challenging contexts or driving rapid improvement
