Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining excellent customer service. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting the smooth operation of logistics operations.

Duties

• Safely operate company vehicles, including vans to deliver goods to clients and customers
• Plan delivery routes effectively to optimise efficiency and minimise delays
• Load and unload items, sometimes involving heavy lifting, ensuring all packages are secure during transit
• Verify delivery details and obtain signatures or proof of delivery as required
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance needs
• Communicate with dispatch or warehouse staff regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered en route
• Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations at all times during driving duties
• Assist with warehouse tasks when not on delivery routes, including stock organisation and inventory checks

Skills

• Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role within logistics or warehousing environments
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record; a commercial driving licence (CDL) is preferred
• Experience operating various types of vehicles, including vans and heavy goods vehicles (HGV)
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with customers and team members
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when loading or unloading goods safely
• Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
• Knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations relevant to commercial driving
• Physical fitness to handle long periods of driving and manual handling tasks
