The Impact You’ll Have

The Relationship Manager will be the single point of contact for a portfolio of HE members, shaping how they engage with Jisc’s full range of:

  • Digital services
  • Data insights
  • Cybersecurity solutions
  • Sector programmes

This work directly supports the sustainability of the sector and ensures universities can continue to deliver world-class teaching, research and student experience.

The role combines:

  • Strategic relationship management

Jisc supports members in solving real problems while identifying opportunities where products and services align with their priorities. This is a consultative, insight-led role built on trusted partnership working and needs-based commercial growth.

The role also involves regular travel to member sites across the UK and requires confidence in building in-person relationships and representing Jisc in senior-level settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Owning and developing strategic relationships with senior leaders across the HE portfolio
  • Understanding member priorities, pressures and digital ambitions, and supporting them to maximise Jisc membership value
  • Identifying opportunities to increase service uptake and generate new business aligned with growth targets
  • Bringing sector intelligence and member feedback to influence strategy, product development and service improvement
  • Ensuring member satisfaction, resolving issues and advocating for member needs internally
  • Working collaboratively across Jisc to deliver a seamless experience
  • Supporting devolved nation priorities where relevant, working with national directors

What You’ll Bring

Essential

  • Strong track record in relationship management with senior stakeholders
  • Proven success in sales, business development and account growth within complex organisations
  • Experience achieving targets and KPIs
  • Ability to translate member needs into practical solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, including explaining complex issues clearly
  • Confidence working autonomously, managing workload and travelling regularly to member sites
  • Digital literacy and ability to quickly understand Jisc’s portfolio

Desirable

  • Experience in Higher Education, Further Education or wider public sector
  • Understanding of Jisc’s member landscape and sector challenges
  • Experience working across multiple sites or regions
