Job Overview
Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join their team. This role offers direct support from the Practice Lead, team colleagues, and peer networks, along with membership in the Social Work Learning Academy (SWLA) to support ongoing professional development and career growth.

Key Responsibilities
Provide social work support to service users, families, and carers.
Manage caseloads effectively while ensuring high-quality casework.
Work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver services efficiently.
Participate in monthly formal supervisions and receive guidance from the Practice Lead.
Contribute to professional development by participating in the SWLA aligned with the British Association of Social Work Professional Capabilities Framework.
Take responsibility for personal Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
Support students and staff through supervision and mentoring.
Social Work Learning Academy (SWLA)
Upon appointment, post holders are auto-enrolled into the SWLA and aligned to the appropriate stage based on prior experience and CPD:
Stage 1: ASYE
Stage 2: Social Worker
Stage 3: Advanced Social Worker
This ensures structured learning, professional development, and alignment with recognised professional standards.
Qualifications & Training
Essential:
Social Work Degree or equivalent
Postgraduate studies in related Social Work practice
Registration with Social Work England
Masters-level modules or equivalent clinical courses in relevant expertise
Willingness to complete AMHP training if not already qualified
Completion of statutory and mandatory training
Desirable:
Masters qualification supporting service delivery
Additional Social Work qualifications such as AMHP, BIA, or Practice Educator
Further study relevant to practice
Experience
Essential:
Significant experience in social work, including assessment and case management
Ability to manage time and caseload effectively
Experience supporting service users, families, and carers
Experience working in a multidisciplinary team
Skills in negotiation, conflict management, and risk assessment
Experience supervising and developing students or staff
Desirable:
Evidence of project work
Experience in multi-disciplinary environments
