Job Summary

Yorkshire Online Academy Ltd is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join its educational institution. The role focuses on inspiring students to develop language skills, build a love for literature, and strengthen critical thinking abilities.

The English Teacher will be responsible for creating an engaging learning environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth.

Duties

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with the curriculum and meet diverse student needs
• Teach English language skills including reading, writing, speaking, and listening using innovative instructional methods
• Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback
• Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and collaboration
• Organise extracurricular activities related to English language and literature
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve the educational programme
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and behaviour in line with school policies

Qualifications

• Recognised teaching qualification in English or a related field (essential)
• Previous experience teaching English at secondary or further education level (preferred)
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage students effectively
• Proficiency in using technology as a teaching tool (advantageous)
• Passion for literature and promoting reading among students
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in lesson planning and classroom management
