Working within the Digital Content team, the Graphic Designer will:

  • Design accessible, high-quality graphics for digital channels, campaigns, and print materials.
  • Support colleagues across the organisation, ensuring visuals are accurate, inclusive, and aligned with the brand.
  • Manage design projects from initial brief to final artwork.
  • Maintain shared design assets for consistency and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

As Graphic Designer, your main duties will include:

  • Designing clear, accessible visual content in various formats such as infographics, posters, reports, campaign materials, and social media graphics.
  • Planning and managing multiple projects simultaneously, advising colleagues on effective visual approaches.
  • Creating layouts, illustrations, icons, templates, and infographics to explain complex or sensitive information.
  • Preparing assets correctly for both digital and print use.
  • Ensuring all designs are bilingual (Welsh and English), maintaining accuracy, consistency, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Maintaining shared design libraries, templates, and image assets to support the wider organisation.
  • Communicating design decisions clearly with non-design colleagues, gathering feedback, and refining work based on user needs.
  • Supporting colleagues in using templates and contributing to process improvements across the team.

Person Specification

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Graphic Design/Visual Communication or equivalent experience
  • Strong working knowledge of graphic design principles
  • Understanding of accessibility considerations for visual content
  • Experience delivering professional design work from brief to final artwork

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of basic motion graphics or video editing tools
  • Experience working across multiple platforms
  • Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential

Legal & Sponsorship Requirements

  • Disclosure & Barring Service Check: This role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. Applicants must submit to a Disclosure check for any previous criminal convictions.
  • Certificate of Sponsorship: Applications from candidates requiring Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications.
  • Skilled worker applicants applying for entry clearance into the UK must present a criminal record certificate from any country where they have lived for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependents (over 18) are also subject to this requirement.
