Job Summary
Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Marketing and Communications Officer to join the Communications and Charity Team. The role focuses on supporting marketing and communications activity that promotes the work and impact of Gateshead Health Charity. This position requires strong organisational skills, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver content across multiple channels, including digital platforms, internal communications, printed materials, and campaign assets.
Produce copy, coordinate visuals, and ensure messaging is clear, accurate, and engaging.
Manage day-to-day social media activity, monitor performance, and produce insight reports to inform future activity.
Support the delivery of fundraising events and campaigns, liaising with internal teams, volunteers, and external stakeholders. Attend events, manage logistics, and ensure promotion before, during, and after activities.
Contribute to the charity’s annual communications planning, support impact reporting, and assist with the annual report.
Build and maintain relationships with staff, fundraisers, partners, and supporters to increase engagement and income.
Collaborate with the wider communications team to ensure consistent messaging across the organisation and alignment with Trust priorities.
Support communications activity reflecting the values of the Trust and charity, including sensitive engagement with donors, patients, and families.
Work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends for events, and manage workload with minimal supervision.
Follow Trust policies, data protection requirements, and fundraising regulations.
Contribute to continuous improvement within the team.

Relevant experience in marketing or communications
