Job Overview
Whittington Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Project Manager to deliver the Start Well programme, aimed at transforming maternity, neonatal, and paediatric services across North Central London. The role reports to the Programme Manager and involves managing defined projects and workstreams, ensuring timely delivery and achievement of agreed outcomes.
This position is suitable for candidates requiring Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate project activities, including scheduling, resource planning, and stakeholder engagement.
Monitor project progress, manage risks and issues, and escalate concerns appropriately.
Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for programme boards and stakeholders.
Support development and implementation of new models of care and service pathways.
Facilitate workshops and meetings with clinical and operational teams to drive consensus.
Ensure compliance with governance processes and maintain accurate project documentation.
Contribute to benefits tracking and evaluation to demonstrate value for money and improved outcomes.
Project Management Duties:
Support the programme team and director in project delivery, task allocation, and decision-making.
Proactively manage stakeholders and resolve conflicts using appropriate facilitation methods.
Ensure high standards of work in delivering projects on time, to quality standards, and cost-effectively.
Plan and organise complex activities including stakeholder engagement, expert groups, and governance meetings.
Develop systems and performance analytics to manage and report project progress.
Analyse and interpret information for presentation to a wide variety of stakeholders.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Knowledge:
Essential: Degree-level education or equivalent, project management qualification, understanding of the health and care system, evidence of continued professional development.
Desirable: Knowledge of the Start Well programme scope.
Experience:
Essential: Coordinating projects in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, risk/issue/dependency management (RAID), preparing briefing papers and presentations, service redesign or improvement in healthcare.
Desirable: Monitoring project budgets, benefits tracking, working across multiple trusts/ICB partners.
Skills & Abilities:
Analyse complex information, develop options, and make recommendations.
Planning and organisation with adaptability to changing priorities.
Stakeholder engagement: present complex/sensitive information and negotiate effectively.
Proficiency in project tools (MS Project, SharePoint) and MS Office.
Knowledge of programme/project governance and equality, diversity, and inclusion principles.
Safeguarding & Compliance
This role requires an Enhanced DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975.
Skilled Worker visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates. Overseas applicants must provide criminal record certificates from all countries of residence over 12 months in the last 10 years.
