Job Summary
Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an exceptional Director of Finance to join the Executive Team, following a planned retirement.

The Trust is looking for a skilled CCAB qualified accountant and leader who combines energy, curiosity, and ambition with strong alignment to its values.
Main Duties of the Job
As part of a collaborative Executive Director team, the Director of Finance will work alongside colleagues bringing deep local knowledge and fresh perspectives. Together with Board colleagues, the role leads a high-performing organisation delivering community, mental health, learning disability and autism services across Gloucestershire.
Core responsibilities include finance, planning, and estates and facilities functions. Additional portfolios may be added depending on skills and experience.
The Director of Finance is a key member of the Executive Team and Board, responsible for:
Strategic financial planning
Maintaining financial systems
Ensuring strong financial control
Enabling the Trust to meet statutory responsibilities and financial targets
Maintaining the Trust’s reputation for solid financial management and delivery with key stakeholders
The role also serves as principal advisor to the Board on financial matters, ensuring potential financial risks are highlighted and providing assurance on financial management.
Executive Leadership Responsibilities
Providing executive leadership for:
Financial Strategy and Management – overseeing the approach to resource use in support of strategic aims and maintaining a strong financial management culture and controls.
Estates and Facilities – strategic leadership for the Estates Strategy and delivery of estates and facilities functions.
Contracting and Procurement – leading agreement and management of contracts, including tendering processes and ensuring best value through procurement.
Business Planning – ensuring coherent business plans aligned to workforce, financial, operational and quality priorities, linking local and national priorities together.

Master’s Degree level education or equivalent experience in financial management or related professional qualification
CCAB qualified accountant
