Job Summary
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Data Auditor to join the Performance Support department. The role focuses on validating and auditing patient pathways to improve data quality and patient care across the Trust.
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
Experience and knowledge of Referral to Treatment (RTT) Waiting Times
Understanding of patient pathways and national reporting standards
Excellent communication and IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel
Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a demanding environment
NHS experience is preferred, though transferable experience from other industries will be considered.
Main Duties
The Data Auditor will work under the guidance of the Data Audit Team Manager and support audits in accordance with the NHS Mandatory Standards and National Guidance. Responsibilities include:
Ensuring accurate and timely recording of data across all Divisions for national performance targets and data quality indicators.
Auditing national waiting time standards and waiting lists, including:
RTT incomplete removals (clock stops)
A&E 4-hour target and length of stay waiting times
Cancer waiting time standards
Diagnostic 6-week target
Procedure cancellations
Inpatient and outpatient waiting lists
Completing root cause analyses of pathways and data quality errors when required.
Assessing, analysing, interpreting, and adjusting patient administration system data to ensure accuracy throughout patient journeys.
Liaising with staff to obtain information needed for pathway audits in line with national guidance.
Supporting staff understanding of key national performance targets and Trust data quality metrics.

Education/Qualifications
Essential: Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent relevant experience
Experience

Previous administration and data handling experience
Understanding of NHS national waiting times rules
Knowledge of hospital Patient Administration Systems (PAS/Cerner)
Desirable:
Experience with patient tracker lists
Understanding of medical terminology and hospital processes

Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Accurate data entry and retrieval skills
Strong attention to detail

Experience communicating with staff at all levels
